Ford is well known for the Taurus, a large sedan perfect for the whole family due to its practicality and functionality. For 2010 the Taurus has been entirely overhauled and the newer version is much better looking edgier, cooler and luxurious. The new model sports a distinct front grille, redesigned headlights plus it’s extremely quiet. Four models are available, the SE, SEL, Limited and SHO. The Taurus will compete in the full sized sedan market with well known vehicles like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The starting price is around $26k.
The regular Taurus models all use a 3.5L V6 engine and outputs 263 HP with 249 of pound feet of torque. The SHO version can shoot from 0-60 miles in just 6 seconds. Gas mileage for the SHO model is 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the freeway. The new Taurus SHO model features a 3.5 Liter V6 engine with a massive 365 horsepower, which is quite good when you keep in mind how much power the engine has. Fuel consumption stands at 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the freeway.
The Taurus’ interior shines with innovative design, well placed controls and spaciousness. The contoured seats are extremely comfortable and offer excellent lumbar support and actually helps reduce driver fatigue. The controls are illuminated by cool blue lighting and there is also ambient lighting available with adjustable colors. The 2010 Taurus offers generous trunk space consisting over 20 cubic feet.
There are many cool fetures available such as a handy navigation system which provides you with detailed turn by turn directions. A keyless entry keypad enables you to open the doors without using a key, you just simply touch the keypad and it lightens up. With the SHO model there is an rear camera available which allows you to see directly what is behind you on the navigation screen or the rearview mirror. An advanced SYNC system allows super easy compatibility with most MP3 players and Bluetooth phones.
You will feel secure driving the Taurus knowing that all the latest safety features have been implemented including anti-lock brakes, side and front air bags, rain sensing windshield wipers, cruise control, traction and skid control, a Blind Spot Information system which lets you know when there is another vehicle driving in your blind spot. A Tire Pressure Monitoring system is in place.
